LAHAR have been around since 2003, have already paid more than their dues by releasing a first full-length in 2008 on DAMAGE DONE RECORDS (‘Oběti Doby’) and a bunch of splits and should familiar to DOOMENTIA followers since a bunch of them also played in RADIOLAKATOR who shared in 2009 a 7 inches with NUNSLAUGHTER put out by your favourite label. Even if ‘Umění Strachu’ is the band’s first recording with their new frontman Banan, they still kept intact that unique 80’s fastcore feeling. You may not understand Czech but a few seconds into that frantic album will be more than enough to realize when you sound that pissed off, your lyrical approach is bound to be nothing but relentless and uncompromised. And of course, the brilliant Andrei Bouzikov nailed it once again artwork wise.
This album reeks of skate park afterhours party, of punks sharing cheap beers, of insanitary squats in the dirtiest part of town and of good old thrash and hardcore. And you know what? It smells friggin’ good!
